In 2009, I graduated with distinction from the Library and Information Technology program at Langara College, where I took a course in reference services, and in young adult services where I developed a youth program. In addition, I graduated with a BA in Psychology from the University of Victoria in 1995. I worked as a Library Assistant at Vancouver Community College from August 2009 to March 2011. While there, I performed numerous circulation duties. Since July 2013, I have worked as a cataloguer at Library Bound Inc.From 2009 to 2014 to 2019 I have held numerous positions at the Library Technicians and Assistants Section within BCLA. What I am most proud of are our efforts to launch a mentorship program within our group. BCLA was so impressed with it, it made it an association-wide program. I am also proud of our efforts to change our group from an Interest Group to a Section. This gave us more visibility and a louder voice within BCLA.More recently, I have decided to become serious about my poetry. I am writing my first book of poetry about my experience of a liver transplant and the transformative effect it has had on my life. I am a regular at open mics in the Greater Vancouver area and have been a featured reader at several regular reading series.
