Start Up Plant Manager of a snack food manufacturing plant specializing in multigrain crackers.TH Foods is an independent operating subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation.Managed ten direct reports (Maintenance, Quality, Accounting, HR Managers and six Production Supervisors) and a total team of 87 full-time hourly employees plus 36 temporary employees across three shifts. Plant runs 6 days a week and produces 25 MMLBS of multigrain crackers a year in a 150,000 SF facility.Hired and trained startup team to achieve technical competence resulting in a successful startup within three months’ time and profitable operations within eight months. This success was repeated in August 2013 and September 2014 when the plant’s second and third lines each started up on time.

Richs' Niles plant produces desert toppings and icings for customers throughout North America and overseas.Managed seven direct reports (Production Manager, Plant Engineer, Continuous Improvement Manager, Quality Assurance Manager, Controller, HR Generalist, and Administrative Assistant) and a total team of 12 Supervisors, 82 full-time hourly employees and 24 temporary employees. The Niles Plant runs 7 days a week, 50 weeks a year and produces 90 MMLBS of non-dairy toppings and icings (oil in water emulsions) shipped to warehouses in the US, Canada, Mexico, and Israel.• Improved schedule attainment from 77% in 2007 to 90% in 2011, and efficiency from 70% in 2007 to 85% in 2011, and yield from 84% in 2007 to 93% in 2011. These gains were made by: o Collaborating with corporate planners to establish more efficient schedules for the plant.o Negotiating with purchasing and suppliers to improve the quality of packaging materials.o Establishing a High Performance Team to engage employees in solving problems.• Reduced TRIR by 67.6% and Workers’ Compensation charges by 70.5% and achievedone million man hours worked without a lost time injury by:o Executing effective safety training courses.o Increasing participation in safety inspections, hazard identification, and problem solving. o Instituting Behavior Based Safety expectations.
