In 1993, I, along with a partner, established an NASD Member Broker/Dealer, Kohn, Hebert & Associates, Ltd. I subsequently decided to move on to a sole proprietorship and accomplished this by establishing Stephen A. Kohn & Associates, Ltd., a FINRA Member Firm, in 1996.

In 1991, I joined U.S. Securities Clearing Corp., a San Diego, California based securities firm as Director of Fixed Income Investments and, additionally, supervised that firm’s equity trading room that dealt with stockbrokers on a global basis.

In mid-1988 I was promoted to Assistant Manager of the Bond Department at the firm's home office in Denver, Colorado. I was subsequently promoted to Manager of the Bond Department and elected to Vice President of Fixed Income Investments. In this capacity, I was responsible for trading for the firm's account as well as educating registered reps in the proper use of municipal and government securities as an enhancement to equity investors' portfolios, presenting daily offering sheets to the sales force as well as affecting trades for the benefit of their clients.In 1989, I was elected to the Board of Directors of Intercontinental Enterprises, Inc., the public, parent company of the brokerage. I was involved in the SIPC liquidation of Blinder, Robinson and assisted in the orderly dissolution of that firm.

From the third quarter 1987 through the first quarter 1988 I worked as a Registered Representative for E.F. Hutton, which was subsequently acquired by Shearson Lehman. I returned to Blinder, Robinson in 1988.

Blinder, Robinson & Company, specializing in Municipal and Government Bond sales. I was promoted to Branch Manager in 1986 and established a branch office in Phoenix, Arizona.
