From 1991 - late 1996 I was the Regional Technical Trainer and trouble shooter, as well as the Marketing and Sales Trainer for the Michigan and Ohio Region responsible for over 56 locations. I was trained as a franchise consultant doing business analysis and promoted to Senior Field Representative. From 1996 - 1999 I was responsible for the development of MPI's expansion into South Africa. I handled all technical development, vendor relations, staffing and training for all franchisees. Directed the installation and opening of 18 locations, developed a nationwide vendor network, negotiated all vendor contracts both local and international, wrote and presented all sales, marketing, management and technical training events. Identified and corrected issues from pricing, production, marketing and sales to accommodate the substantial cultural and procedural differences in doing business in a foreign country. I converted all software applications, marketing materials and promotional strategies to correspond with the South African culture, currency and the Afrikaans language. I also handled franchise sales within RSA, site development, build outs and floor plans, installations and ongoing training and development. I also worked with our suppliers there in training and development to further enhance their ability to provide us with superior service than previously available in that country. I also worked in International Franchise Sales while in South Africa, in Australia, Canada and in the UK. Moved back to the USA and was promoted to Regional Director of Michigan, providing franchise sales, analysis, training and support to all franchisees in the state and elsewhere in the Midwest.
