Work update - August 28 - just finished up a temp assignment fabricating custom rail cars for French Company called ALSTON; these rail cars are refit from the lower frames up, with newly installed galleys, restroom area, and swivel seating in front of full viewing windows floor too roof. No expenses are spared here the parts and materials are first class. The engineers worked side by side making fit up as we went, truly a spot on custom fabrication done under a very tight deadline. This is not just a summery but a kudo's for all the engineers and company staff and my fellow mechanics, for a great learning experience and the good fortune of working along side true trade craftsmen, my hat is off too the entire project. - work update - all duty is now commercial type installs-conduit exclusively with mc feeds into various rooms etc, remember this is a complete renovation, and since the fire some weeks ago plans have changed to demo of 100% of the original walls and remodeling to time period that Hotel Renoirs was famous for. So I am hanging 3/4 conduit, exclusively with deep, shallow strut connected with all-thread on 1/2"​ anchors. Doubling struts where necessary or if possible conduit can be used in a three-bend-saddle. Everything must anchor either overhead or vertically too older concrete structural members. Running approximately 1000' per 8hr., shift from ladders. Working in my 4th year as certified trainee, 10% with certified journeymen, 90% individually; Presently renovations at Hotel Renoirs all commercial - commercial highrise multi-use projects around Bay Area - Just completed 8 story multi-use project in Redwood City, CA - all phases from layout through trim-conduit, associated hardware, cables, wires, and 14-2 thru # 8; and all associated hardware; installing devices overhead, in concrete, using all anchors and associated hardware, master of all power actuated hand tools and other equipment.
