I oversee the Support, Production, and R&D teams at the Christchurch office.The main focus of my role involves managing and participating in the Izon R&D program from product road-maps, prioritization and scheduling projects, as well as project management. Our products are a blend of precision engineered instruments and science based consumables and complimentary products.The R&D activities cover biologists, physicists and engineers. This has required me to rapidly learn about life sciences, biology and how it relates to nano particle analysis. A key aspect of my role is to system engineer all the ideas these creative people have into products.In the first year a key project I led has made a huge increase in the accuracy and usability of Izons core instrumentation. This involved a world-first measurement trial that had six leading universities measure the same blood sample to determine how accurately the sample could be measured between groups. Using agile (Scrum) to lead a team of software professionals developing signal-processing solutions for Tait's infrastructure solutions delivered on the TB9400 platform.

Contributing to developing signal processing code for the new base-station using advanced frameworks and C++ on a Texas instruments C64 processor. I delivered functional blocks as well as leading and mentoring others on this. I had a big impact on the architecture of the signal processing functional blocks that increased stability and reduced time to market.

Project managed the upgrade of the beta instrument to the first product release involving new electronics and software. Designed the electronics and coded the FPGA firmware. All in a challenging yet satisfying time-frame. I also managed the production department.
