I joined Scottrade in the market data acquisition group. During my tenure I have developed feed handlers for equity, index, and option market data feeds. I enhanced our feed processors that store, manipulate, and stream the normalized market data. I introduced a feed emulation tool that allows for a scriptable replay of messages. I ported an abstract bus framework from Windows to Linux with two concrete JMS bus implementations. At higher layers, I enhanced a model-view-controller style GUI to interact with a newly authored WCF Service that retrieves and modifies market data in both a proprietary key/value store and a SQL database. I initiated the practice of creating Lua scripts that plug-in to Wireshark to decode third-party and internal protocols.My work at Scottrade involved C++, C#, Lua, Python, and SQL across both Windows and Linux operating systems.

I started at Lucent working on a programmable broadband switch. I designed and constructed a distributed connection management framework, including the API, the framework, and interaction with device drivers for an ATM switch. I also took over maintenance of a reliable inter-process communication framework that multiplexed many channels over a single socket.I moved onto development of a core component in our 3G UMTS network solution. I worked on major UDP traffic performance gains by bypassing the VxWorks IP/Ethernet stack. I also developed an end-to-end integration test tool that allowed our QA team to create Python scripts and automate testing of our application.All of my work at Lucent used the C++ programming language on both VxWorks and Linux operating systems.
