In my role as Chief Strategy Officer and General Counsel, I oversee areas of strategic partnerships, business development, and external affairs to help grow the organizational vision and mission. My leadership portfolio at COSI also includes oversight in education, information technology, safety and security, and more.

In my position as Vice President, I am directly responsible for: (1) creating and implementing a global strategy for government relations at the city, state, and federal levels; (2) leading the development and execution of COSI’s Strategic Plan; (3) developing and optimizing an entrepreneurial business model for current and novel COSI opportunities, including leveraging the corporate landscape; (4) serving as the Executive Leadership Team for the COSI Science Festival; and (5) serving as COSI’s general legal counsel. In this role, I work across the institution and with all departments.Executive Team lead to help oversee education work that delivers critical STEAM learning to all, especially those in underserved communities and founder of the Learning Lunchbox model of STEAM initiative to help "feed hungry lives, and feed hungry minds."

I teach Nonprofit Law and Leadership. Nonprofits play a critical role in addressing issues that are vital to improving lives, building communities, and contributing to economic mobility and sustainability. This course helps students to harness their skills, knowledge, and ability as a leader to shape and contribute to the success of the nonprofit sector and their career as an attorney.

• Cultivated and maintained critical relationships with all major employers, other corporate and business executives, non-profit leaders, philanthropic principals, and foundation officials in central Ohio to maximize strategic goals; including several key accomplishments:- Led the creation of the Ohio Advanced STEM-CTE Leadership Caucus, with key private sector partners including Battelle, Honda, Boeing and more to increase STEM in career technical education throughout Ohio; • Established sustainable partnerships and coordinated with public, private, and non-profit stakeholders to secure multi-million dollar investments for central Ohio, including several key accomplishments:- Directed Ohio congressional delegation collaboration to aid in securing more than $50 million in funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation for the City of Columbus in its Smart City Challenge;- Developed effective 88-county strategy to enable local communities access to more than $200 million in new funding to combat the opioid crisis; • Collaborated with economic development and non-profit partners on job attraction and retention projects to secure significant multi-million dollar investments for the region;• Served as local spokesperson to provide detailed commentary to stakeholder organizations in communicating the mission, goals, vision, and overall strategy of the office through public speeches, panel discussions, and interviews; • Managed critical relationships and serve as a congressional liaison with all local, state, and federal elected officials;• Provided counsel to a United States Senator and staff on all compliance and ethical related matters; and • Created and oversaw several statewide conferences on a variety of critical issues impacting Ohio.

• Performed critical legal research and drafted detailed memoranda on various litigation issues; and• Drafted various legal documents on business and finance, probate and estate planning, and patent matters.

• Drafted court opinions and researched various legal issues for discretionary appeals; and• Drafted memoranda on jurisdictional issues for constitutional questions and substantial state interests.
