Joined Mitie as Head of Technology Assurance on a transformation programme to overhaul end user IT, including their first steps into the cloud. This evolved into an Enterprise Architect role as Mitie’s lead technical voice providing strategy, architecture and assurance for their journey from 0% to 95% of production services in the cloud. Architect and SME for solutions across Azure and AWS, as well as Microsoft 365 services and no/low code tools such as PowerPlatform. Identified solution options and made recommendations based on strategy, requirements and cost. Worked on solutions to assist teams across Mitie to move to cloud services including: connected workspace and IoT, data lake storage and analysis, reporting, customer API and contractual workflow.This role included: working on acquisitions and divestments, presenting to senior business leaders, contract negotiations and a lot of communication with end users at all levels, understanding their problems and educating on how technology could help. Hands-on work included building proofs of concept to showcase new technologies and test solution options, involving everything from writing serverless functions in .NET through to using codeless workflow tools, building webpages and creating ML models.

The Design & Build Lead for a programme to roll out Microsoft Skype for Business to 200,000 users across 130 separate legal entities, with varying data privacy, telephony and information security requirements. Responsible for the delivery and approval process of all designs; and then ensuring that built systems were delivered on-time, and testing completed ahead of go-live and transition to BAU phases. Led a team of full-time engineers, and coordinated across the project PMs, multiple vendor teams and the rest of EY IT to ensure projects all moved forward smoothly.

Joined IBM’s consulting organisation as part of the graduate scheme and performed a variety of roles across the media, telecoms and utilities sectors. Developed strong architectural knowledge and leadership across all phases of the project lifecycle, mostly as part of complex systems integration programmes, including offshoring.

Responsible for the delivery of several IBM development teams into the client, as well as managing the project resources and finances. The solution was a content and publication metadata management system for the BBC's archive, as part of the DMI programme. Liaised between client business and IT teams to ensure that the delivery of a Web 2.0 UI, search capabilities and backend services met requirements and was commercially beneficial for IBM. Significantly improved quality of delivery and client relations compared to previously.

Worked in a number of positions as part of the SAP implementation programme, including project planning and reporting. In addition, led a couple of test teams at different times of the programme to test the integration of SAP with existing legacy systems, as well as the industry wide data flow exchange.

Worked across the test team, as both an analyst and test architect, acting as the liaison between the project management and offshore team, as well as being the technical point of contact for the test team.

Led and was responsible for the work of a team of nine Java designers and developers to design and build a web based fault management solution for Sky’s broadband and telephony products. The solution was a Chordiant based system to handle the lifecycle of a customer fault, from initial call, through escalation and diagnostics, to repair and closure.

Responsible for a team of 2, executing deployments across a number of environments, systems and technologies (including Windows, Linux, WAS, Control-M, Chordiant and Flex). Significantly improved the speed and reliability of deployments through the use of packaging and automated tooling.
