I have worked as a Structural Engineer full time since 2015. I perform engineering tasks in a timely manner in order to meet project deadlines and satisfy clients. I am primarily responsible for preparing structural calculation packages, producing and/or checking project drawings, and helping manage project designers. My projects stay ahead of schedule and on budget.The structural calculations include static and dynamic analysis of the substructure and superstructure. My calculations report highlights design loading determination, foundation analysis, gravity analysis, lateral analysis for wind and seismic loads, and diaphragm analysis. My calculations are always code compliant and reference applicable codes/standards such as IBC, CBC, ASCE, ACI, TMS, MSJC, AASHTO, NDS, AWC, AISI, AISC, PCI, ASTM, etc.The structural drawings include the setting up of foundation, floor, and roof framing plans, in addition to the associated details. When I delegate this task to a project designer or intern, I am then responsible for checking the drawings for any discrepancies with the calculations and/or structural deficiencies.My secondary responsibilities include reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, reviewing geotechnical soils reports, performing site visits, developing structural letters and memos, performing peer reviews, execute structural observations and reports, preparing bids for job proposals, and coordination with architects, owners, vendors and coworkers.
