Technologies: FANUC: M-710iC and M-410 series robots, R-30iB and R-30iB plus controllers• Implemented novel algorithms utilizing FANUC's TP programming language to perform polypropylene substrate flame treatment for vehicle instrument panels, resulting in improved treatment performance.• The requirements specified treatment of two, mirrored parts. The requirement was resolved by utilizing position registers to specify a treatment path for one part and an algorithm that translates said path from either part to its mirror; thereby, eliminating the need to train treatment paths on both parts.• Solution provided simplified, safe, and repeatable recovery from path faults.• Engineered and built a PLC cabinet and coding for interface with a palletizing robot, including 480V conveyor motor control, safety relay interface, light curtain, door, and position sensors, and robot I/O interface.• Provided isolated, 24V DC buses for PLC logic, PLC field devices, and robot control signals.• Developed ladder logic for PLC robot interface and control. Enhanced safety and eliminated down-time through support of in-process QC sampling and bad-part rejection. Ensured safe, coordinated interaction between palletizing robot, injection mold robot, and part inspection (pass/fail) equipment through interlock monitoring and control.• Developed ladder logic for PLC interface with line roller conveyors. PLC control of motor contactors and overload relays for start/stop management of conveyor motors (480V AC, ½ HP). Interfaced with pallet position sensors to control process state including empty pallet loading, palletizing, and offloading. Interfaced with pneumatic pallet position control stop gates for in-position blocking and offloading release. Indexing functionality provided to offload partially loaded pallets.• HMI provided operator control, maintenance monitoring, and debugging tools. Real-time view of all motor and sensor statuses and PLC/robot process states.
