The North Central Neighborhood Association (NCNA) has roots dating back to 1936 and did important work locally on disparity and equal access in the 1960s. In 1976, the NCNA was the first neighborhood association officially recognized by the City of Charleston as part of its Neighborhood Council. Today, the NCNA represents over 1,100 households and ~2,500 total residents and plays an important role in giving voice to the historic and thriving North Central community in downtown Charleston, SC.
