Primary responsibility is to ensure the ongoing success of the organizations core programs which provide economic sustainability to the organization and fund its community and charitable activities though a focus on business development and effective and efficient operations management.

Department Director Oversee the long term and day to day operations of various recreation programs and services including out of school care, health and fitness and community activities and events. Responsibilities include designing and developing programs, operating budgets, and policies and procedures related to program delivery, safety and risk management. Supervise performance of full and part time staff; create revenue and participation targets; recommend and set fees; develop promotion strategies and tactics. Selected AchievementsHave overseen the growth and stability of Dovercourt's Recreation programs as well as Health and Fitness programs; and contributed to the exploration and development of various opportunities and business cases such as the Churchill Seniors Recreation Centre project.Increased program registration and revenue in Day Camps to an average of 450 registrations per week and annual revenue of +$900,000 from average of 225 registrations and annual sales of $362,000 in 2005.Increased program registration and revenue in Before and After School Care through improved program quality and new program development (Before School Care, Kindergarten Care, Youth Zone and Turnbull After Four Care). 2005 registration 45 children - 2010 registration 240. Initiated numerous social services activities and programs including youth programming at Notre Dame High School; championing and formalizing the integration and inclusion programs as well as The Last Minute Club.

Active member of hotel management team and conference centre focusing on conference and group sales, event coordination, and supervision of event services staff. Prepared annual sales targets and budgets for conference centre. Involved in hotel sales and marketing activities including trade/consumer shows, famtours, sales calls (inbound and outbound) and development of content for advertising materials. Selected AchievementsIncreased annual sales for the conference centre on average 20% each year.Improved conference services satisfaction ratings from 3.5 stars to 4.5 stars

Recruited to turn around the operations of a community recreation facility. Directly supervised management and front line staff; worked with members of a community elected Board of Directors; developed program and marketing strategies to improve participation. Selected AchievementsImproved use of Information Technology in facility and program operations and accounting/payroll systems though implementation of CLASS registration and facility management software and outsourcing payroll services. Revised policies and registration processes to reverse declining sales in key programs.
