Steve is 20-year veteran of the United States Navy (SEAL Teams) where he retired as a Chief (SO7). He was assigned to two different SEAL teams (2 and 5) as well as Naval Special Warfare Center as a BUD/S Instructor. His key billets include: ESSEX Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) Liaison Officer, First Phase Leading Chief Petty Officer, Bravo Platoon LPO at SEAL Team Five, and Master Training Specialist. Steve is also CEO of Competitive Performance Strategies, Inc. which focuses on physical strength and conditioning/mental toughness training for the Tactical Warrior and Combat Athlete. Steve has worked as contracted security operator for Trident Group providing Anti Piracy and Shipboard Security abroad. He holds an extensive list of Department of Defense and Special Operations Command certifications and qualifications.

Our progressive and in-depth certificate program incorporates functional movement principles and applications to meet the changing and varying demands of fitness enthusiasts, fitness educators, and athletes. The IBBC prides itself on producing BBS instructors that are the gold standard in the industry; thus, both the physical and mental criterion for passing this program is strict. The IBBC serves as the governing body of the BBS Certification. In this capacity, the IBBC controls all of the content that in provided in the BBS certifications.
