Established and staffed new department to formally architect and engineer robust and effective IT infrastructure solutions. Assessed current technologies and sought opportunities across all areas of infrastructure including networking, hosting, security and end-user computing. Instituted a global software and hardware asset management process and team. Managed and optimized RBC’s largest vendor relationship.

Led development of strategy and business case to replace aging primary and backup data centres in Canada. Successfully directed the migration of RBC’s 85,000 MIPS mainframe, UNIX, Windows and storage infrastructure to new data centers ahead of time and below budget. Successful management of RBC’s two largest data centres with a measured improvement in operational stability. Proactively developed new programs and supported committees to improve employee engagement – RBC Technology and Operation Green IT Committee and Global Infrastructure Rewards and Recognition Committee. Annual department budget of $285MM and team of 550 operations and technical experts.
