The focus of this assignment is to strengthen PAHO's efforts to strengthen AMR Detection and surveillance in CARICOM member states primarily in the English speaking Caribbean. My focus will be on adapting WHO EURO's Tailoring AMR Program's (TAP) methodology to drive AMR interventions focused on behavior change and Infection Prevention and Control (IPC). The position also provides technical assistance in response to CARICOM member state requests for expertise to design, implement monitor and assess AMR National Action Plans whiich will set National standards for effective AMR interventions such as Antimicrobial Stewardship and IPC.

The global community has committed itself to eliminating mother-to-child transmission (EMTCT) of HIV and syphilis as a public health problem and several countries are now poised to validate their elimination efforts.In support of this initiative, the WHO's HIV/AIDS and Reproductive Health and Research departments have jointly developed appropriate processes, criteria, targets and indicators for comprehensive global validation of EMTCT of HIV and syphilis .I have been engaged to develop standardised governance processes and criteria to define (a) The operation of validation committees, secretariats and task teams and (b) The communication between these entities in order to appropriately support the validation procedure and facilitate ongoing maintenance of EMTCT validation status.
