- Responsible for service operations and resolution of high priority and/or complex incidents on thousands of dedicated and virtual servers worldwide via numerous ticketing systems and on 4 different lines of business- Serve as an escalation point as well as train Tier I (Incident Management) staff- Successfully performed several dozen installations (using Jumpstart and Kickstart) as well as fully manage (configuration and administration) operating systems, mainly including but not limited to RHEL, Solaris, and HP-UX- Support popular industry applications/tools such as Apache, iPlanet, Tomcat, Squid, WebLogic, WebSphere, Veritas Volume Manager, Solaris Volume Manager, Logical Volume Manager, Sendmail, NetIQ, HP OpenView, SiteScope- Support mission-critical Infrastructure such as DNS, RDIST, Boot, Jumpstart, Kerberos, NTP, Monitoring, Proxy, Syslog, and SMTP servers- Kerberos account management and distribution including proprietary scripts, RDIST and Puppet servers as well as a MySQL database- HA Clustering support on servers using either Veritas Cluster Server or Red Hat Cluster Suite as well as provide support for VMware Clustering- Hardware support (rack, cable, diagnose, replace, upgrade) for Oracle (SUN) and HP equipment- Scripting (shell, perl, sql, php)- Perform Root Cause Analysis on incidents that result in a service disruption. This includes the investigation, identification and documentation- Written a high number of operational documentation such as troubleshooting guides as well as created maintenance and upgrade plans for complex scheduled maintenance activities- Familiar with EMC, 3PAR, HP, MTI, and SUN Storedge systems as well as manage LUNs on servers running Solaris or RHEL- Resolve backup failures as well as perform restores using Symantec NetBackup- Provide off-hour support to high priority service disruptions via on-call rotating schedule- Foster positive interactions and collaboration with team members in off-shore locations
