Chief Executive OfficerEmtensor Inc Feb 2020 - Jun 2023Vienna, Vienna, AtRecruited as a turnaround CEO, I quickly discovered that the product was both a technological dead end and had the same poor product market fit as many competitors. To resolve I recruited some inexpensive resources and a bunch of PhDs and experienced product developers who could redesign the tech.We then set about the important task of discovering the true markets for a decade old startup. We imagined, prototyped and characterized a solution that delivered what an entire industry had considered, hitherto impossible performance and competitive differentiation. That would bring four $5B/yr new markets into existence on the world’s most pressing healthcare problem – stroke affects 3x more people than sudden cardiac arrest every year.Within a year or so the new global technology team had produced the first few product units ready for clinical trial and most importantly fit to be used in healthcare workflow. This excited 5 of the world’s top physicians sufficiently to join our advisory board. Their diversity allowed us to discover a further two $20B markets - same device, different AI recognizer. The story naturally needed funding and we were able to secure $8M to date, with a further $13M promised over 3 years. When coupled with many grants for clinical trials being proposed in multiple continents right now, that enables the key investment that will catapult the value of the company to unicorn status within 6 years and into the region of $100B in value within a decade.100s of VCs were identified along with a crisp definition of the milestones it would take to secure their investment, and a plan to reach that is less than a year from completion. In parallel many strategics potentially interested in a post revenue exit were identified and have offered support. Some of our physician collaborators have been involved in similar companies where that $multi-10B growth happened in the last decade and feel certain history will repeat. -
