About Steve Polcyn

I’m a commercial workplace designer and business owner with more than 25 years of experience providing design solutions for clients in the technology, financial services, legal, retail and creative industries. I founded DesignLink to play a leadership role in connecting people and space through smart design. I’m passionate about solving complex design problems and creating spaces that work exceptionally well for people. I’m an excellent project manager, a creative problem-solver, and trusted partner for clients and colleagues. Those who know me well find me skilled at listening deeply to client needs and leading interdisciplinary creative and technical teams to deliver outstanding projects. I’ve enjoyed creating commercial environments for a variety of business and civic organizations in Silicon Valley and Chicago, from a variety of platforms. My experience and education span commercial interior design, industrial design, and urban design, and historic preservation. I value this broad perspective and how it has enriched my work and life.I believe in contributing to my profession and community. Currently, I am fulfilling a second term as a member of the City of San Jose's Landmarks Commission, I am an active Board Member for the design, planning and fund raising for the new Levitt Music Pavilion San Jose, and I am an instructor of professional practice for of interior design at San Jose State University.
