I’ve hit my career purple patch – I’ve found out that I love working in different organisations to help them and their people to engage with conduct regulations and put into action programmes of work to initiate the cultural shift. So what’s my story? I spent many years as an employee and manager working in customer and change environments for large financial services firms. I thought I was enjoying myself and doing a decent job, but it was only when I got the opportunity to spend 12 months working for a firm in Malaysia that things really started to fall into place. I was entrusted with kick starting a cultural change programme for a life insurance firm that centred on implementing new customer conduct regulations and I loved it. Here was an opportunity that really connected with me both personally and professionally.What’s my overall experience? Well, I’ve worked in firms in the UK, India, Malaysia and Sri Lanka. I’ve worked in all the insurances – general, life, speciality, plus pensions, lending, credit, and banking. I’ve worked with governance, risk and compliance teams. I’ve worked on a wide range of projects, including firm wide conduct risk programmes and reviews of corporate governance frameworks. In terms of regulatory projects I’ve worked on PSR, GDPR, SMCR, IDD and FTE, plus outputs from thematic reviews. I’m well versed in UK conduct initiatives and have my finger on the pulse when it comes to global conduct risk trends. What can I do? Facilitate change, manage and implement projects, gap analysis, cultural diagnosis, training and coaching.Other useful stuff….I’m a Change Management Practitioner and have exceptional organisational, planning and time management expertiseWhat’s the thing I most enjoy? Working with people across the business – IT, Finance, Operations, Marketing etc. I get to learn so much from these teams and I love working with them to make change happen and stick.
