Jamie “Jai” Stephens, a dedicated advocate for social justice and global citizen, draws inspiration from a favorite quote by social rights activist and pioneer Nelson Mandela: "Our human compassion binds us the one to the other – not in pity or patronizingly but as human beings who have learned how to turn our common suffering into hope for the future." Sharing a birthday with the iconic Mandela, Jai manifests this as a divine symbol of good fortune and alignment of pre-destined greatness.Born in the sweet deep south of Atlanta and raised and educated in Miami's vibrant and diverse city, Jai's journey has been shaped by the arts, cultural travel, and a spiritual connection with Mother Nature. As a 4th generation Miami native, she’s achieved a diverse academic and professional foundation in Intercultural Communications, Creative Arts, Psychology, EduTech, and Social Impact, Jai remains committed to being a lifelong learner and a creative Artrepreneur. Furthermore, Jai is also the co-creator of SS.Tribe Collective, a 2020 pandemic brainchild and creative brand celebrating and connecting ancestral visual art and the global African diaspora.Essentially, having lived, studied, and worked abroad across North + Central America, Africa, and Asia, Jai embodies a growth mindset and an Alchemist spirit that endeavors to uplift, advance, and empower Black intersectional communities worldwide.Currently, Jai serves as a Grassroots Cultural Organizer for Sustain the Culture, a youth-led social and climate justice nonprofit. Here, Jai's passion for cultural innovation and creative education comes to the forefront as she mobilizes marginalized communities and works towards sustainable futures in her hometown of Miami, FL, and beyond.Jai's dedication to empowering others and driving social and environmental change continues to grow stronger. As she navigates various roles, stakeholders, and industries, her mission remains steadfast: to create a more colorful, healing, inclusive, and sustainable world, focused on a vision of advocacy for social justice, climate action, and overall Black Liberation.
