Triage is a revolutionary healthcare-focused AI company. Our flagship product is a neural-network-based system to diagnose skin conditions with accuracy comparable to or exceeding that of trained dermatologists.

In this role, I led the design and implementation of the backend components of our skin diagnosis API, our Lab data warehouse and deep learning model development platform, and our Office telehealth platform. All were primarily developed in Ruby on Rails, with some frontend components in React.I also served as our company's Chief Information Security Officer, responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive application and infrastructure-level security measures and ensuring compliance with health information regulations such as PHIPA, HIPAA, and HITECH as well as data privacy legislation such as the GDPR.

Lerners LLP is one of the largest law firms in Ontario, with offices in London and Toronto. They have over 120 highly skilled and experienced lawyers and more than 200 dedicated support personnel on staff.I worked closely with the Director of Information Technology in order to perform an in-depth security analysis of all public-facing computer systems, and make precise, actionable recommendations in order to improve their security posture. My work helped to ensure the security and protection of mission-critical systems and confidential legal data.

I worked on a novel method to visualize inter-species relationships from DNA sequence data. I proposed and led new studies to apply this method to plant phylogenetics and classification of environmental samples, both of which had been unexplored. I also greatly improved the performance and efficiency of software written in Mathematica and C++, allowing us to run more experiments on larger datasets in less time.

I worked in a team of three to create InkChat, a browser-based collaborative whiteboard platform, as a research project. I was primarily responsible for writing JavaScript code to handle the drawing and rendering of digital ink, including a standards-compliant InkML implementation, as well as back-end code using Node.js to handle real-time transmission and saving of session data, using WebSockets and MongoDB.Link: http://inkchat.org/

I implemented and analyzed the performance of new algorithms for minimizing non-deterministic finite automata, writing complex and highly optimized code in Python and using it to produce valuable real-world performance data of new minimization techniques.

I developed a software program using C#, .NET, and Windows Forms, following specifications given by the administrative staff, for tracking the progress of graduate students in the Department of Computer Science. It saved time and improved efficiency by reducing administrative mistakes.
