Profile bio

About Alan Stephenson

I have a varied background including quite a few years of doing retail sales and tech support, which allow me to have a clear customer focus as I work as a Program Manager to design software that users will enjoy using. My broad skill set has allowed me to pick up and do almost any task I have been asked - and I always enjoy a new challenge.I have not added my retail experience below, as I do not have all the correct dates. As a summary, I worked in three places - Staples, Radio Shack, and Gamestop doing software and electronics sales. While I moved between these places periodically, I worked retail starting in early 1997, and going through the end of summer in 2003. During this time I learned a lot about interacting with the public, how to sell a concept / product, customizing messaging to the experience of my audience, and general customer service. The experience doing retail has taught me more about patience and customer focus than any other job - and is part of what drives my desire to see products improve so that everyone can experience the benefits of technology.

Listed skills include Software Development, Software Project Management, Operating Systems, Windows, and 11 others.
