During my time on the HPC team in Azure I worked on FPGAs, fundamentals, the Batch project for the team, as well as helping develop plans for using Azure at scale. This team has given me opportunities to do partner / customer interaction and cross team collaboration.

After working on a small team during my first internship, I wanted to experience a large team enviornment, so switched to the Windows division. During this time I worked on the Windows 7 touch platform, aiming to produce sample applications that would demonstrate the capabilities we were enabling in this area.

Remote Workspace

After returning to college from my summer internship with Microsoft, I continued my work remotely on the SharedView project through this contract position. This helped me understand the benefits and drawbacks of remote employment. As the team was building conferencing software, it also allowed us to actively use the software every day.

My first college internship taught me the basics of being a PM, and made me realize that it was what I wanted to do as a career. I worked on the SharedView project, redesigning much of the UI, and leading my feature crews in an agile programming enviornment. During this time I:- Developed specifications for new software- Led development / test teams in implementing specifications through agile development methodology- Coordinated overhaul of software interface redesign- Interfaced with other groups on usability and design work- Conducted ad-hoc usability testing

The time here put me in touch with how systems work in mixed vendor envoirments, and helped me learn what users struggle with and desire from their computer interactions.
