Responsible for the safe, effective and efficient operation of a nuclear power plant utilized for training and certifying students who go on to serve as nuclear operators onboard US Navy Submarines and Aircraft Carriers. Specifically, I am currently the Lead Shift Engineer of a crew of over 150 staff and students and am responsible for all aspects of operations, training and personnel management. • I daily supervise reactor startups and shutdowns for training while exercising 100% procedural compliance• During my first year as a Shift Engineer, NPTU certified 1,340 students - the highest ever graduating class in Naval nuclear history• After technical problems shutdown another training facility, I led a crew that directly contributed to the emergent qualification of over 400 additional students - resulting in a 5% increase in nuclear fleet manning, maintaining fleet manning above 100%
