IBM WebSphere Application Server on z/OS, Poughkeepsie, NY Function Component Test (FCT) lead for the Object Transaction Services (OTS) component developing software applications in Java following the J2EE standards. Software developer for methods supporting Systems Management (SM) in C++ following the Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA) standards. Worked with IBM Böblingen and Endicott to develop the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) feature. Worked with IBM Böblingen to develop the System Management Facilities (SMF) feature. Second and first line department International Standards Organization (ISO) representative.  International Standards Organization 9001 auditor. Function Component Test lead for the Systems Management (SM) component. Turned over the FCT package to IBM Böblingen.

IBM RS/6000 SP Development, Poughkeepsie, NY Project Manager for High Availability Cluster Multi-Processing (HACMP) and High Availability Geographic Cluster (HAGEO) with RS/6000 systems, clusters and the IBM RS/6000 Scalable POWERparallel Systems (RS/6000 SP). Responsible for developing and managing contracts with outside vendors and managing software developers at multiple IBM sites. Bring-Up Coordinator for future hardware components in the RS/6000 SP. Team building for the Bring-Up Coordinator role required interfacing with other test teams in Austin, Texas and Poughkeepsie, New York.  Integration Test (IT) Team Leader role laying out a direction for IT for the specific release and then forming a team to execute our objectives. Detailed project plans were written to keep management, FVT, IT and System Test aware of IT's objectives, execution and status.

IBM Printing Systems Company, Boulder, CO Software developer and Level 3 Support responsible for the maintenance and development of the Advance Function Presentation Application Programming Interface (AFP API) on the Multiple Virtual Storage (MVS), Virtual Machine (VM), and Virtual Storage Extended (VSE) platforms.  Technical lead for the AFP API responsible for all field calls from the customer that Level 2 Support was not able to address. Resolved performance problems and conducted AFP API classes at customer sites. Test cases and support written in VS COBOL II and PL/1. Software developer responsible for the maintenance and development of the Graphics Object Content Architecture (GOCA) tower of the Intelligent Printer Data Stream (IPDS) future midrange printers on an AIX driven RISC System 6000 platform. System designer for the Automated Regression Test Support (ARTS), a product that decreases the development cycle by decreasing the product regression test time.

IBM Enterprise Systems, Poughkeepsie, NY Focus Team Leader and developer for the System Activity Display (SAD) function for the future Processor Controller on an OS/2 platform. Led a team of developers from IBM Endicott, Kingston, and Poughkeepsie to drive the SAD function from architecture to function test. Architect, designed, implemented, and tested the SAD support on the Hardware Support Element (HSE).  Project Leader and developer for the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Channel Service Processor. Project Leadership responsibilities included resource management, scheduling, and work allocation. Architect, designed, implemented, and tested C Language code that would be included in the line driver shipped with the product.

IBM Enterprise Systems, Poughkeepsie, NY (continued) Technical Leader for both new and current functions in the Logout Analysis Machine (LAM) residing in current and future Processor Controllers. Addresses field problems commensurate to their severity. The LAM Technical Leadership role required interfacing with other areas throughout the Laboratory. Code was implemented in PL/AS and PLS/3, in a Virtual Machine (VM) operating system environment. Bring-Up Coordinator for the implementation of firmware on a future large system Processor Controller. Assembled a team of developers that assisted in installing the firmware plan onto various test vehicles for internal customers. Software developer responsible for the development and implementation of Licensed Internal Code (LIC) on the Diagnostic Machine residing in the Processor Controller of current and future large systems. The principle language used in this project was PL/AS.

IBM Information Systems, Poughkeepsie, NY  Series/1 software developer for support of an automated manufacturing process interfacing robotics with the Series/1 hardware. The assignment included Personal Computer networking between Series/1 computers and various robots, including support for a real time inventory data base and tracking capabilities. The principle language used in this project was the Series/1 Event Driven Language (EDL) in an Event Driven Execution (EDX) environment. Code developer that provided support and the installation of PLS/3 code to support the build and test of card, board, and Thermal Conduction Module (TCM) manufacturing lines. Several systems supporting the manufacturing process required updating to serve the new technology. This assignment also included ongoing contact with manufacturing engineers. The support was performed in a Multiple Virtual Storage (MVS) environment.

IBM Information Systems, Poughkeepsie, NY  Participated in the cooperative education program between SUNY and IBM. Implemented code for a manufacturing tracking data base system. This assignment required a good knowledge of the IMS data base system and the PLS/3 language. The support was performed in an MVS environment.

State University of New York, College at New Paltz, New Paltz, NY Computer science tutor in both at the computer facilities and on a one to one basis with other students. This assignment included tutoring students at a beginner level in syntax, flow charting, and basic hardware and software concepts. Supervised and assisted students in the computer laboratories.

USMC, Headquarters Marine Corps, Washington, DC COBOL programmer, updated and maintained existing programs.
