I have been working in the NZ tertiary education sector since 1998. I am the Education Division Manager and a Director at EmployNZ, a NZQA Category 1 registered PTE, based in Tauranga with delivery sites in Mount Maunganui, Auckland, Whakatane, Rotorua and offices in Taupo. EmployNZ helps people to pathway to employment through our courses, placement services, and the support services we offer.We work with people who have left school with low or no qualifications, people looking for employment, people looking to access the Youth Service, and those who need English Language or Workplace Literacy courses.I am passionate about developing and managing tertiary education programmes to provide opportunities for stakeholders, staff, trainees and learners which lead to positive life changes pathways towards and into employment and improvements within the workplace. I strive to make sure that the achievements and recognition for adult learners as they acquire new skills, knowledge and attitudes are validated through recognised awards and certifications. I have specialised in all aspects of the management of niche tertiary education, utilising NZQA approved, TEC funded programmes and short courses across multi-site PTEs. I enjoy working with industry, community stakeholders, Iwi and Hapu representatives to understand their needs and aspirations so I can propose and develop solutions using education and training programmes and employment services for our people so they can make contributions to their communities and continue their learning and employment journeys.I also founded a small business brand, Edbiz which offered PTE Consultancy and Advisory Services alongside Adult Education & Assessor Training targeted at teaching staff within Secondary Schools and Tertiary Education Organisations across NZ. Edbiz was purchased by a NZQA Provider and integrated into their brand.
