Reporting to the Development Manager – Acute Care, the purpose of the position was to provide Jade’s clients with software enhancements and support. This involved liaising with clients, preparing requirements documentation (Use Case development), prototyping, software development, fault analysis and resolution.Key Responsibilities• Business Analysis• Software Development• Client Support• Client TOIsKey Achievements• Significantly simplified the theatre scheduling process for DHF Theatre Schedulers by designing and developing a sophisticated user interface. This resulted in a fast and simple method by which schedulers could define theatre sessions, assigning staff and other resources, then drag and drop waitlist entries into available sessions. This module was part of a larger project covering the full theatre workflow from waitlist to complete perioperative data entry. • Developed a complete report suite for Plunket, comprising some 70 statistical and operational reports using the Jade Report Writer tool. Significantly reduced run times by implementing a new flattened reporting structures. • Designed and built a set of interfaces to the National Health Index (NHI) for CWH, enabling users to search the NHI, compare and download patient demographic data.• Managed extensive work on enhancing and optimising data extracts for DHF’s Data Warehouse.• Redeveloped the HL7 messaging application for DHF, enabling multithreading of messages to departmental systems, creating a much more rapid dissemination of data to external departmental systems such as Synapse (PACS) and Medchart (Prescribing). • Designed and built an ‘Electronic Whiteboard’ for CWH to enable clinical staff to view a large real-time display of patients by ward, along with their status.• Led team in design and development of an Outpatient bookings system for DHF and Healthlink South (predecessor of CDHB).
