I am a qualified lawyer, regulatory counsel and trusted advisor to senior leadership teams. I lead corporate legal responses and change required for compliance, risk management and operational reasons, and have substantial experience advising on and finding solutions to business critical issues. My technical knowledge spans over 30 years. Influencing and building trust with colleagues underpins my ability to effect change, and I understand the varying and sometimes conflicting interests in professional environments. My approach is open and always professional, and I am able to operate effectively within political situations while remaining neutral and focused on business needs.My career has been spent with mainly large, global financial institutions, and I enjoy the variety and complexity that this offers. With both individual expert and direct people management roles, I have operated successfully within international matrix organisations. I have substantial product knowledge, particularly across all aspects of derivatives and prime brokerage. Representing Nomura on all major industry working groups, I am also an experienced presenter and panel speaker covering a range of legal and regulatory matters facing investment banking and markets organisations. In addition, I work at the forefront of initiatives such as ESG to ensure that corporate statements carry weight and legal definition. I feel very strongly that those from underserved and underrepresented groups of society should be given fair opportunities, and I am currently Chair of the Charity Committee, lobbying and leading initiatives and events as part of Nomura’s sponsorship of SEO (Sponsors for Educational Support), a local East London Charity.
