So in this dipiction the name of the school means "Heaven's Fist School of Martial Arts". A very powerful name and use of imagery. Imagine seeing a fist striking down from the heavens and smiting one's enemies. The second set of kanji reads as: Ten = Heaven, Ko = "old" but in this case it is read as "Veteran" and Bushi = Warrior. So the second set of kanji can mean "The Martial Arts School of the Enlightened (heavenly) Warrior" one who is a true veteran of combat and warfare. This is, in essence, a reflection of my military service, combat experience and realization of the warriors place in the scheme of things. Though I use the word "heaven" it has no religious implications in my teaching of the arts except from a historical basis to allow students to understand the development of the arts they are studying and the warriors who developed them.
