Responsible for leading all aspects of the $200M annual operation of the world’s leading high-performance computing (HPC) user facility at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Primary responsibility and oversight for ensuring safe operations while meeting the needs of the associated sponsors. Incorporated diverse sponsors as tenants of shared laboratory space. Served as organizer and guest lecturer for the University of Tennessee’s Data Center Management course and associated Data Center Technology and Management minor degree program.

Started at NICS as lead System Administrator for Infrastructure Systems. Primarily responsible for designing and implementing NICS infrastructure. Worked with multiple services including DNS, DHCP, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Nagios, SysLog-NG, Torque, Moab, NFS, MailMan, Postfix, Majordomo, RT, Kickstart, Puppet, etc. After infrastructure was setup, was given the opportunity to be the lead administrator on Keeneland (heterogeneous CPU/GPU Cluster) which contained Nvidia General Purpose Graphics Processing Units.Became the lead System Administrator for Kraken (100 cabinet Cray XT5 system) responsible for managing day-to-day operations and coordinating operational projects relating to this system. Transitioned into the HPC Team Lead role overseeing the deployment, installation, and maintenance of some of the largest National Science Foundation and University of Tennessee compute resources. I completed my tenure as the High Performance Computing (HPC) Operations Group Lead. In this position, I worked with 16 Full Time Employees in all aspects of both short and long-term management. Duties ranged from day-to-day decision making, future planning, project management, and proposal preparation/submission. Along with these responsibilities, I also served as the XSEDE Systems Operational Support group manager. In this role I coordinated the work of 12 Full Time Employees (approximately 22 physical employees who split time) who were located in multiple time zones at various NSF centers across the United States.

Managed up to 20 servers ranging from AIX to RedHat Linux. Most ran external applications that were supported by either a vendor or other on-site IT staff. Regular interface between clinicians and IT professionals. Has IBM SVC experience and extensive VMware experience.
