Dual certified in safety (AIHS Chartered OHS Professional) and ergonomics (HFESA Certified Professional Ergonomist), my experience has been focused on designing and delivering safety solutions through detailed evidence based assessment, the use of higher order controls with specific performance metrics to evaluate solution effectiveness. My safety interests are broad but key areas of interest are biomechanics and the use of common and bespoke lifting aids and mechanisation to address manual handling injuries, safety climate assessment and working with clients to enable a strong climate for safety and productivity. But My passion is the design of state of the art IT based safety management systems. Applying ergonomics systems thinking to the way we record and use safety data provides a lot of insight and a very comprehensive overview of safety systems performance.I am an advocate for safe design and the use of participative ergonomics processes with workplace leaders and their front line employees. I like to get the best out of people by engaging them in the design of the work they do and ensuring people are working productively within their capabilities. Underlying this of course is that people who are healthy in body and mind are more productive. Enabling employee wellness needs to be a key part of comprehensive WHS arrangements. Wellness programs help keep the H in WHS.

Enterprise wide role providing OHS consulting services. Major activities include provision of safety specifications and safety acceptance testing for major plant procurement, development and implementation of various corporate safety policies, developing, maintiining and auditing OHS Management Systems, business process design for IT systems to support OHS including lead and lag metrics. The role also required extensive liaison with regulatory bodies, all levels of management and consultation with workers and unions.
