Profile bio

About Stephen Yu

I am an experienced gameplay animator that started in TV at the young age of 19. After 5 years, I transitioned to the video game industry and haven't looked back. My skill set includes both the artistic and technical tools of the trade, with an eye for detail and the drive to always strive for excellence. I welcome critique from my peers and help others in their quest for great game design, tools and animation. I believe that change and failure are necessary steps in creating great things and it's vital in how we get better at adapting.I specialise in keyframe and motion-capture animation, have directed and prepped multiple motion capture shoots, doing casting and remote and onsite captures. I can use a multitude of content creation software including Maya, 3D Studio MAX, XSI and Motionbuilder. I'm well versed in integrating and creating advanced animation systems, such as motion matching and have experience in visual scripting in game engines such as Frostbite and Unreal. My objective is to help studios create the visual quality they embark on and to grow as an artist and a person.

Listed skills include Cinematics, Maya, Character Animation, Animation, and 20 others.
