With a track record of delivering efficiencies and leading teams to achieve change my career includes 20 years of experience in talent development, recruitment, training, career education and program management for large, multifaceted organizations. I have led both small and large teams, new initiatives, program expansions and organization-wide projects that have helped support and connect the career development needs of post-secondary students with the evolving world of work. I value teamwork, collaboration, different perspectives and work-life flexibility. My structured and logical approach is balanced by my instinct to live in the present moment and embrace the chaos that sometimes gets tossed our way. I have been asked many times about my definition of leadership and over the years it has evolved, perhaps mirroring my own experiences observing great leaders. To me, leadership is not defined by a position or credential one holds, but rather, a collection of behaviours/traits that inspire others to rise to new heights; someone who steps up in the face of adversity, delivers strength in times of need, advocates for others, provides a voice to issues that are trying to be heard, shows compassion, empathy and vulnerability towards themselves and others. Throughout my career I have learned from many leaders, mentors, colleagues, friends and students. Most significantly, they are a positive reminder of the value and importance of relationships.Outside work I can be found hosting a dinner party, taking in a yoga class and enjoying neighbourhood walks with my family.
