As the Art Director, I manage and oversee all design projects from concept through completion. I lead a creative team of two which requires me to delegate responsibilities and assign projects, brief the team on project requirements and objectives, provide creative direction, review their work and provide guidance and constructive feedback along the way. In this role, I also take on the responsibilities of a Graphic Designer – working on developing creative for projects in tandem with managing my team. I work closely with clients to understand their needs and to understand the project requirements and goals. In this role, I am also responsible for outlining statements of work and developing accurate estimates for design related projects, web included. I oversee project schedules to ensure timelines are maintained and deadlines are met. I also participate in the hiring process of designers by reviewing applicant resumés, conducting interviews in tandem with the President and by participating in the decision making process.

As a Graphic Designer, I conceptualized and developed design solutions that were innovative, functional and effective while also pleasing to the eye. From developing brands, producing marketing materials such as brochures & newsletters, creating annual reports, designing large format prints such as trade-show displays, banner stands and posters, setting up promotional material and swag, to developing website designs and storyboards for motion graphic videos – I worked on a wide range of creative in this role. While doing so, I collaborated with team members on projects and reported to my creative director for project briefs and guidance. I was also responsible for presenting concepts to clients, communicating how the design solution met their needs and achieved the project goals, and for working directly with them throughout the design process.
