Supports the Mobile and Partner Libraries team to coordinate, plan, develop and implement community outreach activities and will lead the implementation and system-wide coordination of the Library Tech Mobile service plan.

Provide strategic direction for offering technology training programs and services across the library system. Act as “subject matter expert” for technology training programming and services. Provide technical direction, training and education across the library system in best/promising practices in technology training and digital literacy programs.

• The Digital Equity and Learning Librarian will be a leader in the library’s efforts to achieve digital equity within our community. They will provide support for initiatives begun by digital inclusion fellows and will manage projects determined by the Director of Content Strategy. This person will create training with appropriate content and innovative delivery methods for diverse learners. They will identify and advocate for the technology and access needed for this training and to help the public be successful bridging the digital divide.• Aligning with library priorities, this position will empower library staff to instruct and support patrons with digital learning, especially Multnomah County residents who are traditionally digitally excluded by such barriers as poverty, low education levels, low English language proficiency, disability and aging. The position will complete research and conduct ongoing community needs assessments to work towards achieving digital equity in our community, collaborating with appropriate stakeholders within the community and library system. • Provide direct public service in person at Central Library, via chat, e-mail, text, social media and in outreach settings as assigned.

• Served in a leadership role with implementation, staff and public training and maintenance of BiblioCommons, the library's new discovery layer for the online catalog. Lead other reference staff in fully exploiting the potential of the discovery layer to help patrons and staff find and use MCL print and electronic resources and participate in social media interactions facilitated by BiblioCommons.• Assisted with maintenance and training related to the Millennium OPAC.• Responded to questions and comments from the public related to the discovery layer and OPAC.• Worked with other systemwide access services staff, IT staff, the Technology Action Team, the Information Services Action Team and the Disability Accommodation Group to support the library's public computing environment. This included managing projects, evaluating the potential of emerging technologies for MCL's use, assessing needs, developing and delivering staff and public training, assisting with equipment and software troubleshooting, writing procedures and other supporting documents and related tasks.• Provided direct public service in person in various library locations, via chat, e-mail, text, social media and in outreach settings as assigned.• Collaborated with the Technical Services Department in decision-making regarding cataloging and its impact on discovery of materials.
