I advise and mentor clients during the important transition from high school student to college freshman. I work with students on everything related to college admissions: selecting high school courses, designing summer plans, completing the Common App, producing essays that truly shine, and everything in between. I help with the whole shebang, or can simply assist with specific parts of the process. I help remove the stress from the family dynamic by managing the entire college application process.There is a college for every kid; I help find the right one.

Managed team of 17 and directed the work of the Operations division, which is diverse, complex, time-sensitive, and has a significant financial impact on Arlington County. The Operations team must issue accurate, timely tax bills and process payments received through multiple channels. Ensure the smooth functioning of County operations; of the County’s FY20 budget of $1.4 billion, the Operations division billed $960 million, and directly processed payments of $1.1 billion.Cultivated and maintained excellent working relationships with outside vendors, software developers, other County divisions, local business owners, and residents.Strived to be a thoughtful, mindful, and empathetic leader who is able to draw out the best from staff through respect, empowerment, and trust.

As the Communications Strategist for the bustling Office of the Treasurer, I was responsible for designing, directing, and implementing all ways that the office interacted with the public and with other government agencies. Some of my duties included:• Develop comprehensive, multi-pronged communications and marketing strategies.• Work with graphic designers (or sometimes even do the designing myself) in all mediums to get the message out to constituents about tax dates and obligations.• Coordinate all media queries, stories, and write all press releases.• Conceive, design, write, and coordinate resources as needed for various annual publications.• Write speeches and design Power Point presentations.• Develop and implement digital marketing initiatives for the website, email, print ads, and social media.• Design posters, handouts, survey cards, flyers.• Turn data into visuals that everyone can understand.• Organize annual conference for 300 attendees, from building a RFP for hotels to soliciting sponsors to creating and managing the budget to developing the conference website to interviewing potential speakers to selecting the bands -- 100% involved in every aspect.• Travel throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia to participate in Treasurer's Association of Virginia business as needed.• Create and manage all content for the website.

As a side hustle, I helped kids get into college. I worked with high school students on creating a college list and crafting their essays. Together, we brainstormed ideas and I was always able to draw out their impactful and compelling stories in 250 or 500 words. I was especially committed to assisting underserved kids who had little to no help at home or school.

Taught English elective (How to Craft an Excellent Essay) to high school sophomores and juniors. Held weekly office hours to counsel seniors on the college application process, focusing on how to craft the perfect college essay.
