Mary Sterk, CFP ®, is the owner of Sterk Financial Services (www.sterkfinancialservices.com), which is headquartered in Dakota Dunes, SD and has a second location in Kansas City. Mary’s inspirational story is one of fighting her way from Welfare to Wealth Management despite a teenage pregnancy, living in low-income housing, and raising two small children while subsisting on food stamps. With a fierce determination to provide for her family, she attended business school through both correspondence and night classes. Having earned her Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation, Mary honed her expertise and established Sterk Financial in 2004. From humble beginnings in a tiny office, Mary has now received numerous awards including 2018-2024 Forbes Best-In State Wealth Advisors, 2018-2021 Forbes Top Woman Wealth Advisors, 2022-2024 Forbes Best-In-State Women, #1 in SD, and 2017 Investment News Women To Watch. She developed her radio show / podcast, Money Guide With Mary Sterk, to educate and inspire listeners to create their best financial future.
