Trustee of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health. Co-Founder of Kitchen Conversation. Managing Director of SQS. Member of governance and the technical board at Safe to Trade. Moreover he also sits on the audit governance board at Eurofins. Sterling is Scientific and Regulatory Advisor for the sustainability organisations OLIO, The British Lion Mark and Highfield. He also sits on the Advisory Board of New Food Magazine and sits on the CIEH food advisory panel.Sterling has over 40years’ experience of working in the food industry in the fields of food safety, governance, compliance, horizon scanning, sustainability and innovation. He started his career in government before a successful track history in retailing with Marks and Spencer and Tesco. He has also worked in the branded environment for Coca -Cola and Disney and as a Technical Director at two manufacturers.With experience as a regulator, retailer and manufacturer he has a unique perspective on the development of the global food sector.He is an experienced expert witnessHe has also been a Non- Executive Director with the social enterprises The Chadwick House Group (UK) and Environmental Health Testing ( Florida US) and trustee of the scientific charities SCS, CIEH and IFST. As well as an ex board member of Campden BRI.Sterling is a scientific and public health commentator with regular columns and a number of learned papers to his name. He acts as an expert witness and independent and scientific and regulatory food consultant.
