I'm the founder of Sterling Capital, a firm offering private investments for high net worth investors and institutional groups who want access to corporately guaranteed, long term leased, commercial NNN real estate assets in the medical space. Currently I'm in the middle of raising $1.5 bil to purchase a large number of assets with US government guaranteed leases for 30 years, Abs NNN.I started this company on the back of exiting a business consulting firm I started in late 2016, and then exited out of in 2020.Once exiting, I decided I wanted to learn about real estate investing, and start placing some of the capital I acquired from my exit. My primary concerns, after a particularly stressful (for me) first business venture, to have passive income, coupled with strong tax advantages, which could also give me decent appreciation. I wanted to bring my core skills of marketing, negotiation, and team building to this new venture.Through looking at hundreds of different deal structures in real estate (and thousands of deals), I landed on NNN investments in recession-resistant industries as being the sweet spot for my personal type of investing.After having now either directly acquired or helped friends acquire $27 mil in properties in my first full year of running Sterling Capital, now we are expanding to offer packages to institutional groups, funds, family offices and the like. We work directly with corporate tenants who want to expand into solid markets with their product, and then either keep the assets on our own balance sheet, or package them up to provide to institutional buyers.
