The Finance Committee is acting in an advisory capacity to the Board of Trustees. Specific responsibilities include:• Approve policies as they pertain to investing, endowment, and other financial areas as needed. • Approve hire of outside independent auditor and ensure that independent oversight occurs annually.• Oversee financial reporting process.• Oversee communication of the school’s financial status to the Board of Trustees to make sure the full board understands the financial picture.• Oversee Annual Budget to recommend final approval to the Board of Trustees.• Oversee compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing nonprofit financial reporting.
