Am currently serving as the California Desert District Program Lead for the Abandoned Mine Lands and the Hazmat Programs on Public Lands in the California Desert. I have created and implement a plan to safeguard (remediate) physical safety hazards associated with over 12,000 Abandoned Mine Land sites on Public Lands in SoCal. I am responsible for leading projects including the development of work plans, schedules, working with a variety of specialist to insure that Section 106 of HPA, requirements for T/E Specis Act, and requirements of the Mining Law have been met prior to project implementation; developing budget proposals; and administrating contracts as a Contract Officers Representative. The second part of my job includes managing and overseeing responses for environmental cleanups including: spill response, unexploded ordinance disposal, bio-hazard responses, and illegal dumping on Public Lands in SoCal.

I served the public by managing/supervising an organization comprised of 28 permanent staff and 4 seasonal employees responsible for 3.3 million acres of public land within the Mojave Desert managed by the Needles Field Office (NFO). I had responsibilities for:• collaborating with employees, plan and schedule work by setting priorities and develop schedules for completion of work.• implement policies, regulations, and procedures, to accomplish organizational objectives.• planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating a broad array of complex resource programs requiring intensive multiple-use management and protection of a variety of resources.• coordinating land and resource planning and management with representatives of Federal, State, tribal, and local governments, the general public, public land users, and private landowners.• maintaining a sound organization that effectively and efficiently uses personnel, equipment, material and financial records.

As a budget analyst, I performed, advised on and served as a project lead in several of the numerous phases or systems of budget administration that are used in the Federal government. I am knowledgeable and skilled in applying budgeting federal laws, regulations, policies, precedents, methods and techniques.

Continued from previous position to include added responsibilities as the Noxious Weed Coordinator for BLM - NM Farmington Resource Area; and the Range Improvement Program which included project planning, coordination, and implementation.

As a BLM Range Conservationist in the Farmington Field Office, I was involved in preserving, developing and managing rangelands. This includes studying and analyzing vegetative resources, developing grazing plans, establishing standards for rangeland use and conservation, and advising State Officials in rangeland management practices. I maintained a strong working relationship with the San Juan Basin Livestock Association and Navajo Grazers that fostered sound range management on 1.2 million surface acres in NW NM. Most problems can be fixed with a little common sense, trust, and initiative.

Assisted with range and wildlife short and long-term trend plot studies, conducted actual use investigations, and monitored livestock use along riparian systems. I had the responsibility for care and daily upkeep for 5 pack animals. Assisted with design and implementation of fuel reduction projects.
