Acquire manuscripts and shepherd them through the development process, up to and including line editing; liaise with the production team and ensure authors deliver projects on time; strengthen relationships with existing authors, perform outreach to grow the author base, and acquire new authors based on our DEI goals; edit and rework cover copy to increase its effectiveness and align editorial with marketing and sales goalsAchievements: acquired two new authors in the first two months of accepting the role of Associate Editor; facilitated a roundtable discussion about Harlequin's Romance Includes You mentorship program;led a discussion about Black writers and our role as publishers in elevating Black voices through the DIB committee; sought out and subsequently acquired a project for one of our trade imprints in addition to managing my current author base; member of the Global Outreach team, the DIB Committee, HarperCollins Diverse Reads Committee, the Write for Harlequin blog team.

Achievements: co-founded and became head writer for a travel blog, www.expatsrus.net; was Editor-in-Chief of The Windsor Insider, an online newspaper. Day-to-Day Activities: write blog posts, newsletters, profiles for various small business clients; line edit, proofread, and copyedit manuscripts for various publishers; responsible for inputting and proofreading various websites for web designers; conduct research for clients. Freelance Clients include: Wiley Canada; Key Porter Books; Elf Designs; Twisted Fiber Arts; All of the above clothing.

Achievements: helped to develop a new production schedule for the Fall and Spring book seasons; was the main contact for co-publishers on several children's book series.Day-to-Day Activities: proofread manuscripts and printer proofs; copyedit manuscripts; coordinate award submissions for Key Porter titles; apply for CIP information for new titles; sit in on production and editorial meetings to stay up-to-date on the schedule for the upcoming season; review submissions and make recommendations for acceptance or rejection.
