Co-founder and GM of Youth Search and Rescue (YSAR Trust), which prepares college age students for the national community volunteer sector aligned to Search and Rescue and Civil Defence Emergency Management. The program includes a marine and rural fire component, including the Coastguard Boating Education Day Skippers qualification. To date there have been 250 students participate in the training program.1) Developing and implementing ArcGIS including live tracking, search and rescue and emergency management preplanning, Integration Safety Management Systems, field data collection and Geographic Information Systems training. 2) Diversity and Inclusion integration – engagement design and organisation change management with emphasis on Te Tiriti o Waitangi. 3) Cultivating and fostering national strategic partnerships and community engagement. 4) Developing of field intelligence systems for SAR and emergency response. 5) Leading the Science Technology Engineering Math (STEM) pathways for the development for youth. 6) Implementing IT solutions including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, FOCUS Command and Control, Drone (UAV) for SAR and SAR Pre-Plans.

Bay of Plenty Civil Defence Emergency Management Group1) Performed the role of Regional Advisor for Civil Defence Emergency Management Group. 2) Spearheaded ArcGIS development for GIS4EM, along with Eagle Technology as well as planning for standard operating procedures for Geographic Information Systems in emergency management. 3) Acted as Regional Manager for the New Zealand Response Teams NZRT15, 16 and 17 working with Red Cross and FENZ to deliver a Regional Training Exercise at the New Zealand Fire Training Centre. 4) Project Leader for a regional review and regional strategy of land mobile radio to assess the transition from analogue to digital radio network and setting national best practice operating procedures. 5) Oversaw the role of Regional Lifeline Utilities Coordinator.

The Emergency Management Coordinator (Operations) is specifically responsible for the coordination and delivery CDEM activity relating to operational response capability and lifeline utilities. The role will rely on established relationships to leverage outcomes aligned to the Group Plan, and to continually assess vulnerabilities and opportunities for operational response capability and lifelines, and suggest actions to mitigate risk. The overall goal for this position is to create a highly skilled emergency management community through the strengthening of relationships and the implementation of programmes or work that enables each area to function at the highest level of capability in an emergency.The position has two distinct modes of operation; a business as usual component that focuses on relationship management and planning for different types of emergencies, and a response component that operates in a high stress environment implementing previously rehearsed procedures and rapidly responding to the unfolding needs of an emergency.This position is also required to provide generalist CDEM expertise and support in the management and delivery of the group work programme.

Tauranga Search & Rescue (TSAR) is the local body volunteer organisation within the Bay of Plenty providing land and urban search & rescue services to the Police, public and international visitors that require their services. TSAR has over 70 trained Search & Rescue Volunteers. The research was focused on the development of hydrogen cyanamide (hi cane), SKW, artificial pollenation, mechanical pruning, biotechnology, nitrogen effects on fruit storage.
