Including interfaces for theAdvantage systemI have worked on a major conversion project to convert the GZS systems to Euro processing.I also provide live support for CardPac (including IXS) and Advantage systems.Programming is in Cobol II, CICS, DB2.I was responsible for the analysis of problems, customer liaison and the specification of solutions, programming, testing, live implementation of these fixes/new developments. The was the requirement also to meet and discuss issues with the German bank at times at theirhead office in Frankfurt.

Main Responsibilities: Consultancy; Live system support.I was employed by SEMA to provide 24-hour support, in both a technical and business sense, to their CardPac client's worldwide. This involved supporting PLCC, VISA, and MasterCard and Eurocard clients. (SEMA are effectively a software house, they provide the software for the systems run by their clients, but provide technical support). This led to work abroad, notably a three-month stint at CAIXA bank in Lisbon. Here I headed-up a team of CAIXA bank technicians in installing and testing an MVS version of CardPac - including systems for the processing of Base I and Base II Visa transactions, for which CAIXA was an issuer and an Acquirer. I also worked on producing patches for Visa and MasterCard compliance, based on analysis of the various bulletins from these organisations.I was involved in all aspects of Base I and Base II for Visa.

Main Responsibilities: Project and team leadership, technical support.I was employed by Systematics to lead a team of (about 10) Yorkshire bank staff to convert their loans portfolio from a UNIX machine to an IBM/Systematics architecture. This was for a client base of perhaps 1 million customers. Yorkshire bank had just become part of NAG (National Australia Group) who had a worldwide strategic partnership with Systematics.I was responsible for creating the new system, and this involved all the usual tools of analysis, design etc. I was responsible for co-ordinating the testing on the new system and the setting up of operational procedures.Used SSADM techniques to analyse old system and design new (Gane & Sarson standards)

Here I worked on technical design, programming and testing.I later became part of the CCN Core systems (base) team where my responsibilities were much increased. As part of the base team I was responsible for the support of the VISA systems (including analysis and implementation of all business compliance for VISA - which required me to liase with the VISA head office in Kensington). I also provided management backup and live support for VISA systems and clients such as Standard Chartered Bank and MBNA (i.e. I worked in a supervisory/team leader role to the support teams - if a problem arose that the junior support staff could not resolve, it became my responsibility).I was also part of the team that implemented new client systems for CCN (CCN are a third party processor). Trained in System analysis and design, SSADM, Data modelling, Normalisation etc while at CCN.

I also provided live call-out support. I also worked on an early DB2 system assessment.I also worked with the HOGAN package.I was technical consultant to the implementation of SWITCH and on-line authorisations for First Direct.In my last year I worked as a business analyst, with the responsibility of designing a replacement securities system for Midland bank, which up to that point had been paper based!!
