Cassady Electrical Contractors is full service electrical contractor that specializes in commercial, industrial, institutional and medical construction and remodels. Sub-specialties include fire alarm systems, temperature control, generators, uninterruptable power supplies, thermal image scans, arc flash studies, process controls, programmable controllers, design build, site lighting and communications. Cassady employs approximately 110 full time electricians and 10 support staff.Responsible for all internal operations of the company including accounting, interim and annual financial reporting, cash management, job profit/cost analysis, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, project management, fleet management, information technology, risk management, human resources, safety management, purchasing and warehousing.Directly responsible for all daily, monthly and annual accounting and financial functions including the preparation of all internal financial statements. Work directly with outside accountants to prepare reviewed annual financial statements.Prepare and submit weekly, monthly and annual tax filings for federal and state payroll taxes, unemployment taxes and state sales taxes.Prepare and analyze job profit / cost reports for all projects undertaken by the company. Work directly with project managers and estimators to ensure that all project goals are met including profit, schedule and overall customer satisfaction.Implemented state of the art construction finance system that fully integrates all accounting, job costing, project management and human resource functions.Manage the corporate risk management and safety programs.

The Department of Administration is an umbrella agency of the State of Indiana that provides support services to all state agencies throughout the state. Areas of responsibility included Facilities Management, Public Works, Leasing, Controller, Information Technology, Human Resources, Payroll, State Motor Pool, Parking Services, State & Federal Surplus, Warehousing, Central Mail & Distribution, Central Printing, Travel Management, State Information Center, and the Recycling/Greening Program. Supervised fourteen direct report division directors with a total staff of approximately 325 employees, and managed an annual agency budget that was in excess of $200 million.Oversaw the operation and maintenance of 4.3 million square feet of office buildings and parking garages, including the historic Indiana Statehouse. Managed all projects related to the maintenance, repair and rehabilitation of the Indiana Statehouse in such a way to ensure that the historical integrity of the building was kept intact.Responsible for operation of the Public Works Division (PWD), which manages most of the State’s major construction and maintenance related activities including project feasibility, design, bidding, contract award, contract management and construction management. Typical projects included new construction, remodels and expansion of existing structures such as prisons, office buildings and recreational facilities. The PWD oversaw more than 800 projects per year with a combined value of over $60 million.Served as Project Manager for the design and construction of a new $8 million multipurpose facility that co-located several agency divisions into one building resulting in a substantial annual savings from having these locations located separately.Served on the Governor's High Performance Government team. The HPG team was responsible for reviewing, and where necessary, re-engineering many of the State’s major business processes to ensure maximum operational efficiency.

State Risk Manager - Responsible for coordinating the risk management activities of all state agencies. Coordinated all environmental clean-up contracts for state owned properties. Worked with the Indiana State Safety Advisory Committee to provide safety training programs and materials to all state agencies. Established and maintained disaster plans for the Indiana Government Center.Director of Business Performance - Responsible for analyzing and improving all business processes of the Department of Administration. Worked with agency divisions to re-engineer, within statutory limitations, those business processes that were deemed inefficient.

Developed and implemented the first Risk Management Program for a city of 68,000 residents and 750 employees.Responsible for the creation and administrative oversight of the city’s self-insured and self-administered workers’ compensation program including the review, investigation, and payment of claims. Negotiated with agents and brokers regarding all property and casualty insurance coverages. Monitored and analyzed claim activity for all insurance coverages so that city departments could improve loss control efforts.Developed and administered the annual budget for all risk management activities. Managed the city’s comprehensive occupational safety and health program and developed and implemented employee training programs to ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations.Received the “Outstanding Risk Management Program of the Year” award from the Public Risk Managers Association, which is the highest national honor possible for a public entity risk management program.

Responsible for the analysis of city revenue sources and expenditures. Developed in conjunction with the City Controller, a $20 million annual city budget for presentation to the Mayor and the Bloomington Common Council. Performed extensive analysis of city’s workers’ compensation losses that resulted in a self-insured and self-administered program. Developed a computer model to track all financial aspects of union contract negotiations for Fraternal Order of Police, Bloomington Firefighters Association and the American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees.
