In late 2017 NICE inContact made the decision that the Software Engineers in Test (SET) needed to be brought back into the QA Org. Before this time the SETs were reporting to the Engineering Managers. This created confusion for the SETs and the quality of the platform was declining. I was asked to take ownership of the SET teams in Salt Lake City, Bolivia, and Vietnam. With the added goal to improve the quality of the platform. As I started on this adventure I knew I needed to create and establish processes the SETs could follow. Once the processes were in place we were able to reduce regression time by more than half, made it possible to release software every 6 weeks, and lowered the amount of customer found bugs. I also established a team of strong leaders by empowering them to make decisions after they knew the vision I had quality.My role has since expanded to where I am the lead of Load and Performance testing for the platform. I have established load profiles to be ran every time we are in the regression phase. We are currently working on load profiles for the largest customers we have so we can catch issues these larger customers might have experienced with the new release we have developed. I am a champion for my employees and I am passionate about their development, so I have also seized the opportunity to improve the companies Pluralsight account. I have created a plan so that we can use Pluralsight as a development tool and a way of measuring where our employees experience is. This will allow us to see how we can guide them in their careers and make them even better employees.

I was hand picked by the VP of Engineering to see if we as a department could combine the three roles of QA Manager, Program Manager, and Engineering Manager into one role. Because I have had experience in all three of these fields I was able prove this is something that can be done.
