I was trained as a semiconductor engineer and have worked in semiconductor giants like National Semiconductor (Silicon Valley), Sharp (Japan), and Samsung (South Korea). At Samsung I participated in the development of advanced DRAMs and flash memories. Subsequently, I launched a semiconductor startup, Leadis Technology, in Silicon Valley. Leadis completed its IPO just 4 years after we started. Two years after the IPO, I retired and took on the title of Venture Partner at Walden, a Silicon Valley venture capital firm. My alma mater, KAIST, invited me to be a professor when it launched a new program on entrepreneurship. In teaching entrepreneurship, I have pioneered the use of gamification and simulation techniques. I went to Denmark to work as a visiting professor at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). I currently hold positions as a Venture Partner of D3Jubilees, an impact VC in South Korea, and as a lecturer at DTU. Recently I launched my second startup, Lumis Games Inc., to commercialize computer simulation games for startups.
