Trials included TCAS on the Nimrod R1 and a upgraded defensive aids system for the Nimrod MR2 for employment in Afghanistan (for which the team was awarded a commendation). Also deployed with 51 Sqn on operations over Afghanistan, and conducted C130J parachuting trials in the US.

The majority of this tour was spent embedded within BAE Systems at Warton as the RAF Test Pilot within a combined test team, conducting developmental flight test of the Nimrod MRA4 replacement maritime patrol aircraft.
