I wear many hats: educator, team leader, researcher, and community partner. As an educator, I believe learning extends beyond the classroom with a focus on quantifiable research projects. My students have presented at local, regional, and national conferences, and we have co-authored publications appearing in academic journals and outlets. Graduates have gone on to successful careers in government (e.g., presidential campaigns; United Nations) and been accepted to top-ranked law and graduate schools. As a team leader, I have served as a department chair, University Senate President, co-chair of ChairNet (committee of chairs), and Interim (Acting) Associate Dean of the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences. In those roles, I have been fortunate to collaborate with a variety of talented individuals both at KU and beyond. My research has focused on a wide range of topics including third party participation in the United States, congressional gerrymandering, and transitional justice in post-civil war nations. My published work has appeared in journals such as American Politics Research, the International Journal of Transitional Justice, Political Research Quarterly, and State Politics and Policy Quarterly. I have also been a contributing author to books and collections published by Routledge and Sage. In my role at Kutztown, I have partnered with several community organizations to bring events to campus. I served as the treasurer for the Pennsylvania Political Science Association from 2015 to 2023, which hosts a yearly academic conference and publishes a journal, Commonwealth: A Pennsylvania Reader. Currently, I serve as the treasurer and board member of my borough's youth soccer club, which has afforded me the opportunity to build relationships with other youth community organizations and KU's Women's Soccer Team.
