Royalty And Specialist Protection

I undertook one of the most demanding programmes in policing, to secure this sensitive andchallenging post. My role demands excellent judgement skills alongside the ability to assess complex information and respond effectively, often in fast time, to maintain the safety predominately around senior politicians but also the British Royal Family, high profile and internationally protected persons. I am responsible for operational activity, nationally and internationally, driving the review and implementation of security in elevated threat and risk arenas. Travelling globally, I deliver detailed planning and preparation around each event and activity carried out by my principal; conducting continuous security reviews of programmes and working in successful liaison with a range of internal and external partners. I coordinate timetables and manage venue reconnaissance, ensuring compliance with exacting protection requirements whilst meeting the preferences and expectations of my principal. My role often includes the requirement for rapid adjustment to facilitate short notice programme changes and emerging challenges; in these settings I exercise a calm and systematic approach, continually assessing and managing priorities.Exercising exceptional diplomacy, I achieve a balance between ensuring the safety of my principal in public environments whilst managing host expectations. I oversee public and private events, with their diverse demands and requirements, always exercising absolute discretion and consideration.

Specialist Firearms Command

I provided firearms response capability across London, supporting the wider unarmed organisation. I held various roles in the specialist command:Specialist Rifle Team - I supported planned high risk operations and spontaneous events.Armed Response Team - I was tasked with high visibility armed policing response across London. Working within a dynamic team, I provided 24/7 armed protection, ensuring full legal compliance in this tightly legislated service. I demonstrated the ability to successfully assess fast moving situations, contributing proactively to a range of high threat and risk events from armed sieges to shooting incidents and counter terrorism operations.

Frontline Policing

Response - Tasked with the immediate reaction to critical incidents and a range of operational activities, I demonstrated my ability to manage a diversity of issues, influence widely and process information quickly and accurately. Public Order - Alongside my regular duties, I was trained to serve, on an on call basis, in public order situations from serious street disorder to demonstrations and sporting events.Community - Within a neighbourhood setting in a busy and diverse area, I managed localconcerns and investigated crime. The need for the most personable approach and a real interest in local issues that impacted residents was essential. I established and maintained strong relationships with internal and external partners, delivering the most positive outcomes for community members.

Global

I served globally, providing duties in a variety of settings, working with a range of partners to deliver service from close protection and high security management to customs and immigration.
